Menopause at 29…
“Your test results show you have premature ovarian failure (POF), or early menopause. It’s pretty rare. You probably won’t be able to have children. You’ll need to go on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) to protect your heart and bones. I’ll give you a prescription but your GP will be able to look after you from here”.
These are the words the specialist used the day I was told I had gone into early menopause. I was just 29 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday… that was it, no advice, no support, nothing.
