It is with great honor that I nominate Sister Jenna, Director of the Meditation Museum in Silver Spring, Maryland, as a Woman Making a Difference.
– Antonia, Volunteer, Meditation Museum
Sister Jenna is the founder and director of the Meditation Museum, a non-profit organization which has been active in Silver Spring, Maryland since 1997, and hosts a variety of conversations, workshops, special presenters and meditation sessions on a weekly basis, and all course offerings are free to the public.
Attendees of the Museum’s workshops and events represent many different races, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, religious and spiritual traditions and ages ranging from teenagers to senior citizens, and include visitors from around the world.
In June, 2012, after acts of violence at the Gurudwar Temple in Wisconsin, and the Aurora, Colorado shootings, Sister Jenna noted that the country is in need of reflection, meaning, and personal power, more than ever before, and launched the nationwide “America Meditating” initiative which aims to build a more peaceful and safe country through a daily pause for inner self-reflection. As she often says, “A more peaceful individual equals a more peaceful world.” Sister Jenna also launched the world-renowned America Meditating Radio Show, on which she is joined by celebrities, leaders, authors, and average folks, sharing success stories and new ways to combat life’s challenges.
Sister Jenna and the Museum she founded have brought much attention to the importance of becoming a more value-based community with local and global trust and cooperation.
Sister Jenna has never wed nor had children. She began on her spiritual path at age 17 and made a serious commitment to spirituality at age 24. Over the past 14 years, proclamations have been issued from local and national government officials to recognize her for her commitment to serve humanity and work for positive change.
It is clear that she has a tremendous heart!

Great Nomination! The world needs peace, hope and joy. Sister Jenna is bringing these feelings to our community. She is making a difference because she is bringing to our community the opposite of peacelessness, hopelessness and sadness. She is definitely making an unique difference. The world needs to really balance the human side of us with this “beingness” side of all us in order to become the “human beings” we are all suppose to become. Thanks Sister Jenna for bringing us this teachings, this uniqueness, these differentiation to our community. You are a great sample to follow.

What a great sacrifice Sr. Jenna has made! Very early on, she realized that her life would not be her own – that she was destined for great things and that she would belong not just to her family but to the world. I have great admiration for her.
I am also a woman without children and yet, I fell a strong connection to all children.

I have know Sister Jenna over the past decade and called upon her to assist the United States Military by conducting workshops and present meditation practices to the entire workforce. On June 15, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Coast Guard awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Sister Jenna, Director, Meditation Museum, for her outstanding contributions and support of the Coast Guard’s workforce. It noted that the ‘Stress Management Meditation’ CD is inspiring and will benefit the Coast Guard personnel by the methods on how to cope and manage stress in our daily environments. The benefits the Coast Guard will derive from your thought-provoking meditation exercises and beautiful music will improve the well-being of our military, their family members, and the civilian workforce. We consider Sister Jenna an honorary member of ‘Team Coast Guard!” I had the pleasure of presenting Sister Jenna with the “President’s National Community Service Award” for her outstanding contribution to serving the Washington METRO Area planning and executing hundreds of community service program that benefited not only the local area but also the international community as well. Over the years, the Meditation Museum has been active in working with various non-profit organizations, interfaith communities, local and federal government, and scientific areas. For example, over the past 15 years, 13 citywide initiatives were launched and subsequently became global. The Museum has brought much attention to the importance of becoming a more value-based community with local and global trust and cooperation amongst all.
In addition, the Meditation Museum has also been featured in the Washington Post, Express News, Washington Times, Examiner, USA Today, Patch News, Huffington Post and global media. Sister Jenna is also a regular blogger on the Silver Spring Patch. Sister Jenna is highly deserving of the “Women Without Children Making a Difference Award” for her above noted accomplishments in changing peoples lives to better themselves and the community. I am extremely delighted to know about the nomination of Sister Jenna!!
She is one of the few most influential spiritual leaders who have been motivating and inspiring people from all religion to follow the path of spirituality and helping them discover their true self . The love and compassion with which she breaks down the complex life lessons, makes them so simple that even a layman can understand them easily. She’s not only innovative in her ideas for spreading the message of peace, love and happiness but also energetic to put those ideas into action. She has been instrumental in changing the life of millions of people and making this world a happier place.
Sister Jenna is God’s angel incarnated into human soul for the benefit of this world and I am very lucky to have been able to be in her blessed company!!
