My days of late have pretty much become routine. I wake before dawn, I pack my bag, eat a banana, tape my feet, then walk.
I’m writing this CMoMa post from Spain and the Camino de Santiago. It’s been a bucket list item of mine for over a decade. It coincided with some thoughts I needed to think and some decisions that needed to be made. Why not walk 500 miles and work it all out?
The puzzle pieces are coming together and the picture is becoming clearer. It’s all I can ask from life. When you’re far away from those you love and have such an experience, it’s tough to even begin explaining it. There are things they’ll understand. Others are sacred.
There’s a lot of animal life around here. I love Native American animal spirit guides and their interpretations. I have had some interesting creatures show up as I’ve walked.
For the last 2-300 miles, the stork has been everywhere making its nest on church steeples, old factory chimney stacks, and poles.
They’ve been beautiful to watch, watching after their young. Everyone points them out and tells the story of how they bring a new child to families.
We looked up their meaning the other night, and it wasn’t anything like “expect a child soon.” It was: REBIRTH.
I loved that. No expectations. Just like for all of us on this path towards growing our families, it’s a new way of looking at things, a rebirth.
I believe it must be liberating to choose a path most authentic to your heart. I look at the CMoMa community and see a group of people who are on their own paths towards birth and rebirth.
Many might not understand, but it’s not their path. On the Camino, I’ve learned everyone has their own road to walk. Others will understand, though, and their support and the ability to share a sacred part of your path will fill voids.
So as we all walk along looking for signs, find your puzzle pieces, put them together and enjoy YOUR path, YOUR family’s path, and picture.
