Andrea Herz Payne is a First Tuesday LA sister, a dear friend, and a fellow Humanitarian Visionary, Leader and Advocate. With a full heart, that nominate her to be recognized and celebrated as a CMomA Woman Making a Difference.
Seems that Andrea and I always meet most intimately on the most meaningful ground. I initially met her at a Bioneers meeting, which carries its overarching mission as “the advancement of holistic education pertaining to global social, cultural and environmental issues.” I was then so incredibly touched by the launching of her Non-Profit vision, along with her husband Hunter Payne, called Aid Still Required, “shining the spotlight on forgotten issues and people who have been left behind after natural disasters and human crises.”
A few years later, Andrea and I began to have long beach walks together, sharing what it was like to be in our 40s without the children we had always longed for and assumed would be part of our destiny.
When I launched CMomA, Andrea was right alongside from the start, helping to “birth” this vision as well. She expresses herself so transparently and beautifully in our first CMomA promotional video.
Andrea Herz Payne is a perfect example of a women who chose to channel her maternal and nurturing instincts and powerful leadership capacity to become a beneficial presence on our planet. Here’s how you can see and feel the beautiful spirit of Andrea Herz Payne, who is encouraging all of us to “Take the Next Step to Change the World”!
Another important video highlights just how many unanticipated hurdles must be faced in getting help to hurting people. Recently aired by Western Union, and featuring interviews with Aid Still Required and Save the Children, it explores the use of its resources in the complex web of disaster relief. It was shown at the Clinton Global Initiative 2013.

Andrea Herz Payne: Biography
With a deep background in performance and an abiding passion for people, Andrea Herz Payne has cultivated the use of her voice for very specific and meaningful purposes. Having thoughtfully transitioned from playing leading roles on stages across the country to becoming a vocal thought leader for the forgotten and disenfranchised around the world, Andrea is poised to raise the quality of life for millions who have no means through which to speak for themselves.
As a descendent of Harriet Beecher Stowe and of the first Jewish member of the German Parliament, a recipient of DAR and American Legion Awards, an intern in the US Senate, an assistant to a former White House Fellow, an undergraduate member of The College Honor Board, and a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Andrea has a fierce commitment to human rights and justice, a talent for bringing together diverse elements to create unity, and the persistence, education, dedication to excellence, and skill to navigate the system on behalf of the people whom she has chosen to serve.
In her current role as Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Aid Still Required (ASR), Andrea’s vision, and determination have resulted in inspiring exceptionally high-profile, extremely low cost fundraising and media tools such as a CD compilation featuring top name musical artists to benefit survivors of the 2004 tsunami, ASR’s NBA outreach, and a segment on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and George Clooney about the Darfur conflict. Through her efforts, her integrity and uncompromising attention to detail, the Aid Still Required message of helping those forgotten in past and present disasters has reached tens of millions of people throughout the world.
In 2011 Aid Still Required was named “One of Seven Charities to Watch” by The Huffington Post. Her current professional focus is identifying innovative self-sustaining and environmental solutions to humanitarian crises; integrating grassroots outreach with high-profile public figures; and partnering to advance corporate responsibility, private foundation commitments, and media engagement.
Actively engaged with the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, Bioneers, Landmark Education, CMomA (Childless Mothers Adopt, 501-c3) and First Tuesday LA among others, Andrea is a recipient of the 50/50 Leadership and United Nations Association “Women of The World” award, which recognizes “accomplished women leaders who are pioneers in their field.” It is a way to celebrate female heroes and to promote gender equality throughout the globe. Andrea was a panelist at The 2013 Clinton Global Initiative speaking on mobilizing financial resources during times of disaster. Additionally, Andrea is honored in A Celebration of Personal Heroes Gratitude project and is a featured author in Get Your Woman On: Beauty, Grace, Power, and Financial Freedom. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College.
