CMomA forum member, Jen, posted this poignant observation about watching parents celebrate when school starts up.
“Are today’s children so awful to be around that parents count down the days until they don’t have to spend even one more second with them? Are these kids getting in the way of their parents routines by being around? As a childfree (by circumstance) woman, I am saddened to see posts from friends sighing with relief that they won’t have to spend the day with their children because school is starting up. This attitude makes my heart hurt. I cannot fathom this mentality and am so glad that even if my parents felt this sort of twinge, I never knew.”
