Our CMomA community blog spans many topics for the population of persons without children, whether by choice or circumstance. Many of you will choose to remain childless, or “childfree” as some prefer to call it. For many reasons, others might never have children despite their desire for them.
And then there are those who choose to adopt. Our non-profit arm, CMomA, has a few primary initiatives advocating for the welfare of orphaned and abandoned children. One of them is our gift and granting program awarding $5,000 Adoption Grants to eligible childless singles and couples adopting older and special needs children. Many of these children come “home” with unresolved histories of trauma and attachment disorders.
For these and the supportive people around them, we have found Christine Moers to be a wonderful educator and resource for parents adopting children who may require additional understanding and supportive strategies to help them heal, and thrive developmentally.
